Kayaking on Indian River Lagoon

Most of February, March and April were spent getting us ready to head north. We joined the Vero Beach Power Squadron for the opportunity of classes in boating safety and seamanship. It was mostly a review for Dan but ALL new terminology for me. I found it both challenging and frightening but incredibly worthwhile. The class had about 9 of us with different levels of experience and also size of vessels. Living aboard has also been a challenge. it doesn't take long to totally trash the place. Also we lose things tucked away in all the corners but it's home and we've adjusted to living on the water.

It's not always about power boating. In addition to classes at the Power Squadron we have enjoyed all sorts of social activities. From wine and hors devours every Friday night to our most recent past-time - kayaking. We've gone on two outings on the Indian River Lagoon depicted on the following pictures.
